Beyonce Buys $800,000 Church in New Orleans

According to reports, Beyonce recently purchased a rather large church in New Orleans. The church is said to be about 7,500 square feet. Although it is unclear how much she actually paid, the facility was listed at $850,000.

The church was reportedly built in the early 1900s. It has not been in use in recent years due to a number of it’s members passing away. Her plans for the building are not yet known but it can potentially facilitate single and multi-family apartment homes or be renovated and kept as a church.

Beyonce’s sister Solange and her husband reportedly live near the church. The purchase kicks off what will be a busy summer For Queen Bey. She’d also heading out on the On The Run II tour along with husband Jay-Z.

It’s been reported that Destiny’s Child will also be joining her on tour. She definitely gives her fans their money’s worth when she hits the stage stage. So I f you can’t make it to the “church of Beyonce,” I imagine a concert is the next best thing.

University of Florida Under Fire for Pushing Black Graduates Offstage

The University of Florida came under fire over the weekend, after recordings taken during the school’s year-end commencement ceremony went viral amongst members of the public who grew outraged over the way they saw some of the Black graduates being treated.

UF Under Fire for Pushing Black Graduates Offstage

Many of the roughly 10,000 fresh-faced alumni who crossed the Exactech Arena stage at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on Sunday (May 6), did so in style, with some stopping to pose for awkward selfies, others doing dance moves, skips, and flips, and one gentleman even kneeling down to propose to his girlfriend. There were also several instances in which the ceremony’s marshall got rough while moving to rush exuberant grads off – and in each of those cases, the students happened to be Black.

Myesha Senior had plans to celebrate before her Jamaican flag-waving family by doing a Usain Bolt dash pose, but the moment was ruined when she was suddenly manhandled by the marshall. “I tried to do it really fast. I saw the guy coming toward me … and when he pushed me, I almost fell, and I caught myself. But he pushed me so far that I passed the lady’s hand that I was supposed to shake,” she reportedly told The Washington Post of the moment.

Similar actions were taken against Nafeesah Attah, who was nearly knocked over while going to flash a Delta Sigma Theta hand gesture, and to Oliver Telusma, who wound up having to wrap his arms around the marshall to keep from tipping over due to the way he was rushing him along.

University President Kent Fuchs would later take to Twitter to apologize. He has also contacted each of the alum seen in the videos to express his regrets personally. Fuchs confirms that the marshall is being investigated.

The extended clip of Kanye’s TMZ visit is even more brutal to watch

Kanye West’s embrace of the far right came to a head on Tuesday when he appeared on TMZ Live and told hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere that slavery in the United States “sounds like a choice.” Kanye faced plenty of outrage on the internet, but TMZ’s Van Lathan took him to task to his face, and quickly became a hero.

Now, TMZ has shared a 12 minute “extended cut” of the encounter. Kanye starts with a discussion of his meeting with President-elect Donald Trump soon after the election, during which he claims he was “drugged the fuck out” from an opioid addiction, which he developed after a liposuction procedure. But he’s off medication now, Kanye says: “These pills that they want me to take three of a day? I take one a week, maybe, two a week. Y’all had me scared of myself, of my vision.”

The new footage also includes more of Van Lathan’s viral dressing-down of Kanye, who said that his view of the world is “grounded in reality,” unlike Kanye’s. “[Van] said grounded in reality,” Kanye responds, “this reality has been forced on us. It is a choice, like when I said slavery was a choice… We can talk about history, but not too long. We need to focus on our now.”

Kanye then went on to claim that black people don’t speak up on the issue of black-on-black crime, a persistent right wing talking point, which Van pushes back on vigorously. “That’s a lie… There are black people everyday, boots on the ground, all over the place, that are… working to fix this problem… The people that are doing this work in communities everyday, they don’t get the type of reverence… that other people do.”

After calling TMZ “the hospital that will fix the world,” Kanye offers Trump praise for cutting small business regulations and apologizes to Van “for disappointing” him. “I’m just doing what the universe told me,” he said. Speaking with Complex on Wednesday, Van said he was no longer looked up to Kanye: “I feel sad that I lost a hero.”

Rapper with ties to Snoop Dogg issues ‘Crip alert’ for Kanye West

A California rapper on Sunday ordered local gang members to attack Kanye West over his support for President Trump.

Daz Dillinger, a cousin of legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, issued a “Crip alert” for gang members in an Instagram video.

“We are in one boat and they’re killing all of us. He jumps over there and says ‘Master, I’m [on] your side,’” he said about West in the now-deleted clip, TMZ reported. “I’m with you master Trump. Burn all these n——.”

“Yo national alert, all the Crips out there, y’all f— Kanye up,” Dillinger continued, referring to the infamous Crips gang in California. “Better not ever see you in concert; better not ever see you around the LBC; better not ever see you around California.”

The rapper went on to mention the city where West lives, saying: “Stay in Calabasas, ya hear me? ‘Cuz we got a Crip alert for Kanye … All the Crips out there — you see him, bang on his ass, f— his a– up. ”

The backlash shortly followed with numerous people expressing concern about the rapper ordering violent gang members to attack West. Dillinger reportedly wrote other messages directed at West over Sunday and Monday.

Other rappers also weighed in on the topic, according to Page Six. “What the f— is going on,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. “Daz Told the crips to f— Kanye up…Crips Vs Kardashian’s…get the strap.”

Snoop Dogg’s cousin responded to backlash on Monday, posting on Instagram: “FREEDOM OF SPEECH FUC KANYE THIS CRIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP THE REVOLUTION IS ON NOW [sic].”

Late Monday evening he also posted another video, captioned: “Stick and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt me.”

Dillinger is a well-known rap artist who is still releasing music together with his cousin Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg has been also critical of West showing support for President Trump, mocking him in multiple Instagram posts, including a fake tweet from former President George W. Bush saying “Kanye West does not care about black people.”

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels files defamation lawsuit against President Trump

The porn actress alleging she had an an affair with President Donald Trump is escalating her legal fight by suing the president for defamation.

Stormy Daniels filed the complaint in federal court in New York on Monday. At issue is a tweet Trump made in which he dismissed a composite sketch that Daniels says depicted a man who threatened her in 2011 to stay quiet about her alleged sexual encounter with Trump.

In the tweet earlier in April, Trump said: “A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!”

The filing says the tweet was “false and defamatory,” arguing that Trump was speaking about Daniels and that he “knew that his false, disparaging statement would be read by people around the world, as well as widely reported.” It also says Daniels has been “exposed to death threats and other threats of physical violence.”

Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages. Her attorney Michael Avenatti said Monday, “We intend on teaching Mr. Trump that you cannot simply make things up about someone and disseminate them without serious consequences.”

The lawsuit is the latest legal move from Daniels, who already is suing to be released from a non-disclosure deal she agreed to days before the 2016 election in exchange for $130,000. The payment was made by the president’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. That civil lawsuit was delayed in federal court in Los Angeles on Friday, with the judge citing a criminal investigation that Cohen is facing.

Cohen asked for a delay after FBI agents raided his home and office several weeks ago. The FBI was seeking records about the nondisclosure agreement. Cohen’s attorney said in court last week that because the criminal investigation overlaps with issues in the lawsuit, his client’s right against self-incrimination could be adversely impacted because he won’t be able to respond and defend himself.

Aided by her hard-charging attorney, Michael Avenatti, Daniels has aggressively sought to keep her case in the public eye. Several weeks ago, she revealed a sketch on ABC’s “The View” that she said depicts the man who warned her in 2011 to stay quiet about a 2006 tryst with Trump.

Trump faced a number of allegations about his sexual exploits long before he ran for president. The White House says Trump did not have a sexual encounter with Daniels, and the president has denied the other allegations as well.

Trump is also facing a New York defamation lawsuit filed by Summer Zervos, a former contestant on “The Apprentice.” Zervos has accused Trump of unwanted sexual contact in 2007 and sued him after he dismissed the claims as made up. A judge ruled that lawsuit can move forward.

Bill Cosby Found Guilty of Sexual Assault After Years of Accusations

Cosby’s main accuser, Andrea Constand, and two other women who testified that Cosby also drugged and sexually assaulted them were in the courtroom and burst into tears as the verdict was announced.
“I feel like my faith in humanity has been restored,” one of the women, Lili Bernard, said after hearing the verdict.

The conviction came about 11 months after a mistrial was declared in Cosby’s first trial when a jury failed to reach a verdict.

The jury of seven men and five women began deliberating Wednesday and spent a little over 12 hours going over evidence presented to them over two weeks before rendering their unanimous decision.

After the verdict was announced, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele asked Judge Steven O’Neill to revoke Coby’s bail and send him to jail right away.

“I understand this is very serious … however to ask to revoke the bail of individual … is your concern?” O’Neill asked Steele.

“Flight,” Steele said. “To any place. He has a plane.”

At that point, Cosby screamed out in a booming voice: “He doesn’t have a plane you a——!”

Cosby was convicted charges connected to the assault on Andrea Constand, a former director of operations for the women’s basketball team at Temple University, where Cosby was a trustee and major financial donor. Constand testified that Cosby knocked her out with a powerful drug and sexually assaulted her in 2004 at his home.

The prosecution was also allowed to call five other women to testify that Cosby assaulted them in the same manner.
