OJ Simpson Released from Prison

Orenthal James “OJ” Simpson has officially been released from Lovelock Correctional Center in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, at 12:08 AM after serving 9 years in prison. Rumors started to circulate about OJ getting released on Monday, but the prison was concerned with a media circus and therefore chose to quietly release OJ early this morning. OJ will be on supervised parole for the next 5 years.

On October 3, 2008, Simpson was found guilty of kidnapping and armed robbery for entering a Las Vegas hotel room with a group of men and stealing sports memorabilia at gunpoint. OJ admitted to taking the items but claimed that they were stolen from him by a known associate. OJ’s co-defendants all took plea deals and he was sentenced to 33 years with a possibility of parole after 9 years.

Many believed that OJ’s harsh sentence was payback for being found not guilty of killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in the 1995 “Trial of the Century”. According to polls, 83% of white Americans and 57% of black Americans felt that Simpson was actually guilty. Simpson went on to lose the wrongful death civil case with Ron Goldman’s family, where the family was awarded $33.5 million. The family was unable to recover hardly any of that amount from OJ. The items in question that resulted in his recent jail sentence were allegedly hidden from Goldman’s family to avoid the civil suit.

Trump Tweets About Puerto Rico’s Billions in Debt After Hurricane

President Trump finally addressed the catastrophic impact Hurricane Maria has had on Puerto Rico after mounting calls for him to shift his focus from NFL protests to the urgent matter, on Monday, September 25. And in doing so, the firebrand Commander-In-Chief insensed many by raising a reminder of the commonwealth’s debt to Wall Street bondholders.

“Texas & Florida are doing great but Puerto Rico, which was already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt, is in deep trouble,” Trump tweeted. “It’s old electrical grid, which was in terrible shape, was devastated. Much of the Island was destroyed, with billions of dollars owed to Wall Street and the banks which, sadly, must be dealt with. Food, water and medical are top priorities – and doing well.”

The tweet is being blasted as insensitive and ill-timed in light of the devastating conditions on the ground in the aftermath of the Category 5 storm. Comedian Wanda Sykes and musician Marc Anthony are among the public figures who have blasted Trump’s focus on athlete protests as Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Rick Perry, Marco Rubio and other lawmakers urge cooperation with Puerto Rican governor Ricardo Rossello’s push for Congress to pass a relief package that could prove sufficient in sparing further tragedy and getting the island back up and running.

President Trump Won’t Be Invited To Celebrity-Studded Hurricane Harvey Telethon

Houston rapper Bun B and Scooter Braun are busy planning the September 12, 2017, celebrity-studded Hurricane Harvey telethon, but President Trump may not get an invite. As devastating flooding has engulfed Texas and the full damage is still too early to assess, people nationwide are standing in solidarity to help their fellow citizens.

The Hurricane Harvey telethon will not be a place to promote political agendas or spread bigotry and hatred. According to Bun B, unless President Trump can find his place alongside other presidents, such as Barack Obama in a show of strength and unity, he won’t be invited to appear.

There will be three simulcasted telethons across the nation including one in Nashville, Tennessee, New York, New York, and Los Angeles, California. Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton will host the Nashville telethon, tentatively Michael Strahan and Kelly Rowland will host the New York telethon (this is subject to change) and Jaimie Foxx and Hillary Duff are tentatively scheduled to host the Los Angeles telethon. Organizers are interested in celebrities who were born and/or raised in Houston to participate in the telethon.

Bun B is outspoken about the treatment of blacks in a country that is seemingly on the verge of a race war. With white supremacists rearing its head again, Bun B is one of the most outspoken and vocal rappers on issues of race and division in the nation.

He has repeatedly called upon white Americans to stand up against racism, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he would withhold an invitation to President Trump unless he proudly stands alongside Barack Obama and other presidents.

The news that Bun B will not invite President Trump unless he stands in unity with other presidents is getting a mixed reaction on social media. Some feel that Bun B shouldn’t single out President Trump, while others wholeheartedly agree.

DMX Bai Revoked, Judge Orders House Arrest

DMX received a tongue lashing and a heavy handed warning as the judge presiding over his tax evasion case confronted him for his irresponsible behavior while out on bail. However, he got to go home despite having failed several drug tests over the past month.

Judge Jed Rakoff had apparently had enough with the 46-year-old Yonkers rapper prior to his late arriving at a bail hearing at Manhattan Federal Court on Friday, August 11. It had been a mere one day since news got out that X recently broke the terms of his bond arrangement by leaving the state to visit family in St. Louis, and he was already sparing the rapper from having to pay some pretty serious repercussions for a different violation. According to Rakoff, DMX has tested positive for cocaine, marijuana, and opiates on four occasions in less than four weeks.

Attorney Murray Richman went to bat for his client, by reminding the judge that Simmons has a problem with substance abuse, but Rakoff reportedly wasn’t having it, firing back, “It sounds like total self-denial.” In response to the infraction, Rakoff ordered X to serve house arrest with an electronic bracelet on his ankle and warned that “it will be the end of his career and the end of living a decent life,” if the rapper jumps bail.

Before dismissing DMX, Judge Rakoff turned his focus solely on Richman, saying, ”The lesson he seems to have learned over the last few weeks is Murray Richman will always get him off.”

Doctor ‘knocked out’ as he’s forcibly removed from overbooked plane

United Airlines had asked four passengers to leave at random after realising that a flight to Louisville from Chicago last night was overbooked.

However, when no one agreed to take up their offer of $800 and a free hotel stay, the airline began to pick passengers at random.

But the passenger had refused telling staff that he was doctor and needed to see his patients in the morning.

Footage, shot by passenger Audra Bridges, shows the passenger strike his head as he is removed.

She said that after initially being removed the doctor made his way back on the plane but had a bloody face and seemed disorientated, before being removed again.

She told the Courier Journal:that after a young couple had left voluntarily, the doctor had refused leading to the confrontation.

‘Everyone was shocked and appalled,’ she said. ‘There were several children on the flight as well that were very upset.’

The man was the only passenger forcibly removed form the flight, United Airlines said.

They added: ‘Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked,” the spokesperson said. “After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate.

‘We apologize for the overbook situation. Further details on the removed customer should be directed to authorities.’

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

Have you missed the ladies of Potomac in their absence from our screens?

If so, then The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 2 Episode 1 was most definitely the episode you were craving. It had it all: Catfights, Fashion and a whole lot of shade.

When the episode got underway, Gizelle Bryant was trying on a new wig and implying she knew better than Beyonce. “Becky and all of her good hair don’t have nothin’ on me.” Yeah, we believe you Gizelle. If that was not self-centered enough, Gizelle then pleaded with her hairdresser to let her speak about her new boyfriend.

“Can we talk about my man? … Kevin. … I dunno if we’re gonna mingle, but we’re at least gonna give it a shot.” Um, Gizelle, it sure seems like you don’t know much about your man. “If he comes in a short package, that’s fine. As long as not everything is short,” she concluded.

After that, we checked in with Charrisse — who was no longer reeling from the events that paved the way for her husband to ditch her. “Charrisse last year was a very unhappy person and holding onto damaged goods. … Charrisse don’t live here anymore.”

Charrisse also revealed that she sent a cease and desist letter to Charrisse for chatting smack about her to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

Meanwhile, Ashley revealed that things between her and Michael were not good and part of that was down to their restaurant not doing good business.

“We’re eight months in, and it’s been a very difficult time. … People weren’t really digging our food.” She then opened up about their dire finances, saying, “Michael has invested over 1.5 million dollars, and he’s taking care of it until we make ends meet. It’s putting a strain on my relationship.”

That’s a whole lot of money to invest in something that appears to be failing. Ashley was not the only cast member struggling with dire straits on the financial side of things. Robyn revealed that things were not going well. “As a result of all of our financial challenges, our house ended up going into foreclosure.” She then opened up about her husband, Juan and his desire to become a couple again. “Juan wants us to be a couple again, but there’s a block up that’s preventing me from looking at our situation as a relationship.”

After that, Charisse revealed that her husband wanted to part ways with her. “He’s wanting a divorce.” She continued, “I decided that you know what? My children are what’s important. … We haven’t talked about it so much. … Hopefully, he gets a job.”

Later, Gizelle stirred up some drama for Charrisse. Robyn was trying to bring the feud to an end, but defended Charrisse in the process. “I don’t feel like she was calling you a whore. … Didn’t she say something like, ‘I’m not going around calling you a whore?’”

“You were wrong for putting her business out there.”

However, Robyn’s words were not enough to tone down Gizelle, who went forward with some more claims about her former friend. “She has told me she cheats on Eddie,” Gizelle claimed. Is she lying? We have no idea.

At the Manifest Your Destiny competition charity event, Gizelle tried to stir up some more drama. This time it was all down to a dancer named Teon who was grinding on Ashley. Ashley did win first place in the competition, but Charrisse was too busy turning her attentions to Gizelle.

“I did not call you a f–king whore. Don’t let the zip code fool you, baby.” Gizelle seemed to retreat, but is she just biding her time to ruin Charrisse’s life?
