Benzino was assaulted by Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Althea Eaton who also happens to be the mother of one of his children. Eaton attempted to kick Benzino out of their house last week when police were summoned to their home for a domestic dispute.
Authorities told TMZ that Eaton smacked Benzino upside the head after he decided not to leave the house. She struck the blow right in front of police who later apprehended her and held her on $20K bond. She was released early this morning.
The two have battled publicly both on the show and social media over Benzino’s cheating. It seems like this last time Eaton finally had enough and tried to literally give him the boot but he wasn’t having it. Last year, Eaton took to Instagram to vent her frustration over Benzino’s meddling with there women.
“Been QUIET, Loyal, ride or die for this n***a for the PAST 2 YEARS!!! @iambenzino he’s been living WITH ME for the past 3 months and has the audacity to text other b****hes. Been thru so much s*** behind him and this how he repays me.
I’ve been the only one in his corner lately but he still trying to be in these streets? I guess a girl who is loyal, stays in her own lane, and NOT S*CK CHASING isn’t good enough. I changed my whole life. Quit my job, stop going out, stop hanging with friends.”
Birdman and Toni Braxton made their first public appearance as a couple at the 2016 BET Awards. The pair have been very quiet about their relationship outside of close members of the Braxton family sharing their favorable opinions of the Cash Money CEO.
There has been speculation that Toni and Birdman have gotten married, but sources close to them denied that that ever happened. However, Tamar Braxton, the younger sister to the R&B star, told Wendy Williams in an interview that she believed the two had eloped. While the rumor mill has been keeping up, Toni has been spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger in her recent photos and videos, with no confirmation of the big news until now.
The 50-year-old singer and the 49-year-old mogul are engaged. Toni confirmed the news in a trailer for the upcoming season of her family’s WeTV show, Braxton Family Values.
“I have an announcement to make,” she said to her family before exclaiming, “I’m engaged!” Her massive engagement ring was then shown up close.
This will be Toni’s second marriage and Birdman’s first. She was married to her former husband Keri Lewis for twelve years before their 2013 divorce.
After three weeks of testimony and a few hours of subsequent deliberation, an all-female jury overseeing the wrongful death civil trial of slain police shooting victim Korryn Gaines – ruled in favor of awarding her family $37 million, on Friday, February 16.
Gains was gunned down when after a six-hour standoff, officers locked out of her Randallstown apartment with an arrest warrant finally busted in to find her armed with a shotgun. The 2016 incident drew a passionate response from the public over several unsettling tactics used by Baltimore County police. For one, authorities had Gains’ wi-fi cut off as she was live streaming the confrontation, and secondly, many took exception to the force used in disregard of the fact that her five-year-old son Kodi was present to witness the situation unravel.
Kodi will now receive $32 million of the total, as it was determined that County Cpl. Royce Ruby’s use of force, when he fired off the first shot, was not objectively reasonable. The ruling contradicts the findings of a county prosecution that previously established that the shooting was legally justified. In addition to the lions share of the settlement that Kodi will inherit, Gains’ daughter will get $4.5 million, and her father, mother, and general estate will get $300K respectively.
Mard Gras parade-goers in New Orleans were shocked when someone handed them a package containing blackface figurines.
Gregory Hawkins recounted the moment he was given the package, saying, “As soon as he opened it, everybody just kind of got quiet.” He added, “I was searching my mind for like, an explanation,” said Gregory Hawkins, who also got the package, reports WWL-TV. “I thought maybe they were salt shakers or something like that. Or that this was some sort of historic thing for the Endymion crew specifically. But the more I thought about it, the more upset I became about it.”
Other people posted images of the same figurines they received at the parade, which quickly spread online.

Dodge came under fire on Super Bowl Sunday for their use of Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1968 sermon “The Drum Major Instinct” as a background for their “Built To Serve” ad. The ad features football players, rescue workers, and Marines to support their message.

They serve because they feel a shared responsibility and commitment to their family and community. They serve because they’re men and women of their word. PYEONGCHANG, South Korea – Officials in South Korea quarantined 1,200 security guards after 41 of them at the Winter Olympic facilities at Pyeongchang had symptoms similar to the norovirus, CNN reported.
South Korea deployed 900 military personnel after the Pyeongchang Organizing Committee (POCOG) quarantined the security guards. The POCOG said the guards suffered sudden outbreaks of diarrhea and vomited Sunday and were taken to the hospital, CNN reported. An investigation suggested the symptoms could have come from ground water being used in the food and beverages at the facilities, ESPNreported.
“The military personnel … will be responsible for security checks of the 20 venues as they take up jobs such as security searches, previously done by civilian safety personnel, until the patients’ condition is normalized,” according to a statement from the POCOG.
All of the civilian guards are in stable condition, according to the statement.
Competitions at the Winter Olympics begin Feb. 8 and will continue through the closing ceremonies on Feb. 25.
