Mother: Alabama Police Beat Black 17-Year-Old Son

An image posted by a mother has since been shared 61,000 times.

Ulysses Wilkerson’s family was searching for answers as to how the 17 year-old ended up like this after an encounter with Troy police.

“He had trauma to the brain, swelling on the brain, and a cracked eye socket in three different places,” said Ulysses Wilkerson Jr. , Ulysses’ father.

Many of the 61,000 shares of the Facebook post said they were outraged.

“From all over the world, people are commenting they want justice,” said his father.

It is said that officers saw Wilkerson coming around the corner of a building in downtown Troy. When they tried to speak to him, he fled leading to a foot chase that ended here, on Madison Street. One witness said she saw officers surrounding Wilkerson who appeared to be unconscious.

“You could see the swelling of his face you could tell he had a lot of bleeding. He looked like he was passed out or maybe in and out of consciousness.” said Brittany Patterson, who drove by the scene.

Saying the first thing that came to mind was, “I hope they are not beating him.”

WDHN reached out to the Troy Police Department and to the Troy mayors office, neither would comment.

The family is asking for body and dash camera footage to be released. Also telling News 18 today that any charges against Wilkerson were dropped and that he was never placed under arrest.

“They had him handcuffed when we got in there they said he was charged with obstruction of justice the ambulance came to take him to UAB the took the handcuffs off and dropped the charges on him,” said his father.

Wilkerson was released from UAB Hospital in Birmingham, but remains under medical observation and could possibly undergo surgery after more swelling goes down.

Marijuana and Bullets Found in DeSean Jackson’s Car After Crash

Tampa Bay Buccaneers star DeSean Jackson might be in a bit of trouble after a truck registered to him crashed and was abandoned about three miles from the team’s facility in Tampa, Florida on Christmas Eve. Six grams of marijuana and two .38 caliber hollow-point bullets were also discovered inside the vehicle at the wreck.

Jackson denied any involvement in the crash after he was summoned to the scene by police for questioning. He also said he was not driving the truck at the time of the accident. He later claimed that a friend had borrowed his car.

A spokesperson for Jackson released a statement on Wednesday that once again denied his involvement. “It was a friend of DeSean’s who borrowed his car while he was out of town without his knowledge,” the spokesperson said. “None of what was in the car was his, obviously.

He’s dealing with the person that was using it without his knowledge privately. The incident is being handled.” Jackson did not immediately confirm that his friend was using the car according to NFL.com. Only after several rounds of questioning, he agreed to reveal his friend’s identity. The Buccaneer’s coach also released a statement confirming Jackson’s cooperation with police.

Real Housewives Star Arrested

A cast member of “The Real Housewives of New York City” has been arrested in Florida.

Luann de Lesseps, 52, was arrested early Sunday morning in Palm Beach. De Lesseps, who has starred on the Bravo reality show since 2008, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 1:25 a.m.

The Palm Beach Post reports de Lesseps slammed a door and kicked at least one police officer during the early morning incident. She is charged with disorderly intoxication, battery on an officer/firefighter/EMT, resisting arrest with violence, and threatening a public servant.

A Florida judge ordered de Lesseps be released without bond.

The Connecticut-born socialite is the former wife of Count Alexandre de Lesseps of France, who she was married to from 1993 until 2009. She retained her “countess” title until her 2016 marriage to New York businessman Tom D’Agostino. D’Agostino and de Lesseps divorced earlier this year after just seven months of marriage.

Released without bond?? Seriously?? Can’t help but think that if this was someone who wasn’t famous and had a different ethnic background they wouldn’t have been released without bond. Example of white privilege, im my personal opinion. Multiple charges including resisting an officer and arrest WITH violence?? SMH

George Zimmerman Threatens Jay-Z Over Trayvon Martin Documentary

George Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder, after he fatally shot a then 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida on February 26, 2012.

The case would become highly publicized as the incident highlighted racial disparities within many communities, and how Black children are often perceived as threatening and dangerous.

At the beginning of this year, Jay-Z and The Weinstein Company announced they would be creating a 6-part docuseries, “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story” that would chronicle the life of Trayvon through his shooting by Zimmerman and the eventual acquittal. The documentary is set up in the same way they covered the life, arrest, jail time, and suicide of Kalief Browder.

During the shooting of the production, Zimmerman alleged to The Blast that a production team showed up unexpectedly to his home and “harassed” members of his family for on-camera interviews. His ex-wife was also paid to partake in the documentary, due to all of this, Zimmerman has threatened to “beat Jay-Z” and feed him to “an alligator.”

He told the publication, “I know how to handle people who f**k with me, and I have since February 2012,” morbidly referencing the night he fought and killed Trayvon.

The overall fate of the docuseries is currently in limbo due to the scandal with Harvey Weinstein.

Omarosa Manigault DRAGGED Out of The White House

Information has started to come in on Omarosa Manigault‘s imminent departure from the White House, and the indications suggest that her resignation last night was an ugly affair.

White House correspondent April Ryan appeared on CNN today to talk about this development, and she noted that Manigault, a former friend of hers, was deeply unpopular among her colleagues within the administration. Ryan cited previous incidents where Manigault’s conduct rubbed admin officials the wrong way, and Ryan concluded that “she’s leaving because General Kelly was tired of it.”

Ryan reported that Manigault recently spoke with the chief of staff, and she was “vulgar, cursing, very animated” as they negotiated the terms of her departure next month. Kelly previously restricted Manigault’s walk-in access to Trump, and according to Ryan, she demanded to see the president and tried to access the White House residence. This led to the Secret Service getting involved and Manigault being escorted off the property.

“Security alerted General Kelly, he came back down, told Secret Service to take her out. She was escorted off the property.”

News Anchor Calls Out Viewer for Calling Her The N-Word

A nightly news program in Atlanta closed out coverage of the city’s mayoral vote on Tuesday night, December 5, by addressing questions as to whether race wound up becoming an issue in the election. And with the support of her colleagues, one anchor was given the floor to reveal how a letter from a hateful viewer exemplifies how she has personally been forced to deal with racism throughout the hotly contested race.

Shortly after the inquiry was brought up for discussion, Emmy nominated newswoman Sharon Reed turned to a camera off to the side of the CBS 46 studio and called for an email she has been holding onto to be brought to the screen for viewers.
