Suge Knight Strikes 28-Year Plea Deal in Murder Case

Suge Knight has accepted a plea deal for 28-years after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter in the murder of Terry Carter, according to TMZ. The Death Row founder will be credited time served for the 3 1/2 years he spent in jail leading up to his sentencing. Suge will also be on parole for three years following his prison sentence.

Suge’s prior felony convictions also made this sentencing much harsher. He received five extra years because the murder was considered “serious and violent” as well as another year tacted on for using the truck as a deadly weapon.

According to TMZ, Suge Knight has struck a plea deal in the murder case of Terry Carter September 20. Suge was facing life in prison for killing Carter in 2015 in the parking lot of Tam’s Burgers in Compton. He also ran over Cle “Bone” Sloan,” who was injured but survived.

Suge has maintained that he wasn’t trying to hurt Sloan or Carter and says he was trying to escape after believing that they were both about to shoot him. Suge has been behind bars awaiting trial since the 2015 incident.

OJ Simpson Moving to Las Vegas After Florida A.G. Said He’s Not Welcome

Now that O.J. Simpson has been freed from prison he will be going about the task of putting his life back together, but he will not have free rein to do so just yet. While good behavior may cut the time significantly, Simpson is subject to five years of supervised release, and it has already been established that he must remain in Nevada for the foreseeable future. But all indicators point to The Juice being Florida bound in due time, which is a prospect that the state’s attorney general is not happy about.

“I’ve handled parole hearings my entire time as a prosecutor and … I have never seen such lack of remorse in my entire career,” AG Pam Bondi said during an interview on Fox and Friends early Sunday, October 1. “Other than his complete lack of remorse, he wants to come to Florida and golf all over our state, and I don’t want that to happen.”

While Simpson thus far has only been granted approval to reside outside of Las Vegas, he will have the opportunity to request relocation at some point down the line. at which point it is believed that he will hook up with good friend and Naples, FL resident Tom Scotto, who picked Simpson up from Lovelock Correctional Center in the wee hours of Sunday morning. A move to the sunshine state would not only deliver him back to a community of friends he has there but will reconnect him with his children. Bondi admits that if a judge indeed were to permit Simpson to head to Florida, they’d have to receive him. But she ensures that there will be conditions placed upon him, that make for a less than pleasant survival for him.

“You’re not gonna report into parole officers by mail, O.J. Simpson,” Bondi told the New York Post. “You’re gonna have travel restrictions, you’re gonna get alcohol tested, you’re not gonna be able to drink in our state.”

OJ Simpson Released from Prison

Orenthal James “OJ” Simpson has officially been released from Lovelock Correctional Center in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, at 12:08 AM after serving 9 years in prison. Rumors started to circulate about OJ getting released on Monday, but the prison was concerned with a media circus and therefore chose to quietly release OJ early this morning. OJ will be on supervised parole for the next 5 years.

On October 3, 2008, Simpson was found guilty of kidnapping and armed robbery for entering a Las Vegas hotel room with a group of men and stealing sports memorabilia at gunpoint. OJ admitted to taking the items but claimed that they were stolen from him by a known associate. OJ’s co-defendants all took plea deals and he was sentenced to 33 years with a possibility of parole after 9 years.

Many believed that OJ’s harsh sentence was payback for being found not guilty of killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in the 1995 “Trial of the Century”. According to polls, 83% of white Americans and 57% of black Americans felt that Simpson was actually guilty. Simpson went on to lose the wrongful death civil case with Ron Goldman’s family, where the family was awarded $33.5 million. The family was unable to recover hardly any of that amount from OJ. The items in question that resulted in his recent jail sentence were allegedly hidden from Goldman’s family to avoid the civil suit.

Watch OJ Simpson Parole LIVE

The Juice could once again be loose.

Imprisoned former football star O.J. Simpson has a parole hearing this week that could see him released from a medium-security Nevada prison as early as Oct. 1. While lawyers familiar with Simpson’s case say the now 70-year-old diabetic is likely to make parole, what his life outside of the prison walls will be like is still very much up for debate.

“The big question is, if Simpson is paroled, how would he be received? With open arms? Slammed doors?” columnist Scott Ostler wrote in Simpson’s hometown newspaper, the San Francisco Chronicle. “He would be retried a million times in the court of public opinion, gossip TV and social media. Psychopathic murderer or frame-up victim? Rehabilitated soul or consummate con man?”

There is renewed interest in the Simpson saga in the wake of last year’s highly popular FX miniseries and Academy Award-winning ESPN documentary.
