Judge Orders Juelz Santana to Be Accompanied on Tour By His Mother

According to reports, Juelz Santana had his bail conditions modified which will allow the Harlem MC to go on tour with his Dipset brethren for five of the stops on the 15-city tour.

The only catch is that his mother accompanies him on those five stops. Among the other conditions, Juelz is required to wear an ankle monitor and has to drive to the tour stops while. Juelz is also prohibited from traveling with the rest of the Dipset crew.

Juelz is expected to be back in court in the coming weeks to monitor his tour experience and potentially grant the Harlem MC with further touring dates.

Juelz pleaded not guilty to firearm possession charges stemming from an incident a the Newark Liberty International Airport back in March. If convicted, Juelz could face up to 20 years in prison for the felonious crime.

JAY-Z Speaks to David Letterman About His Mother Coming Out as Gay

David Letterman sits down with JAY-Z on the upcoming new episode of his Netflix talk show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” and the discussion includes a brief moment where the rapper gets candid about his mother’s emotional coming out story. JAY-Z rapped about his mother coming out as gay on the “4:44” track “Smile,” and he explains to Letterman just how happy the experience made him.

“Imagine having lived your life for someone else. And you think you’re protecting your kids. And for my mother to have to live as someone that she wasn’t and hide and like, protect her kids — and didn’t want to embarrass her kids, and you know, for all this time,” JAY-Z said. “And for her to sit in front of me and tell me, ‘I think I love someone.’ I mean, I really cried. That’s a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free.”

JAY-Z told Letterman that his mother spoke to him about her sexual orientation only eight months ago during the making of his album, “4:44.” The rapper admits he knew beforehand that his mother was gay, but that she never opened up to him about it one on one until last year.

“This was the first time we had the conversation,” JAY-Z explained. “And the first time I heard her say she loved her partner. Like, ‘I feel like I love somebody.’ She said, ‘I feel like.’ She held that little bit back, still. She didn’t say, ‘I’m in love,’ she said, ‘I feel like I love someone.’ And I just, I cried. I don’t even believe in crying because you’re happy. I don’t even know what that is.”

Watch JAY-Z discuss his mother’s coming out story in the video below. The rapper’s episode of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” begins streaming on Netflix this Friday, April 6.

Mother: Alabama Police Beat Black 17-Year-Old Son

An image posted by a mother has since been shared 61,000 times.

Ulysses Wilkerson’s family was searching for answers as to how the 17 year-old ended up like this after an encounter with Troy police.

“He had trauma to the brain, swelling on the brain, and a cracked eye socket in three different places,” said Ulysses Wilkerson Jr. , Ulysses’ father.

Many of the 61,000 shares of the Facebook post said they were outraged.

“From all over the world, people are commenting they want justice,” said his father.

It is said that officers saw Wilkerson coming around the corner of a building in downtown Troy. When they tried to speak to him, he fled leading to a foot chase that ended here, on Madison Street. One witness said she saw officers surrounding Wilkerson who appeared to be unconscious.

“You could see the swelling of his face you could tell he had a lot of bleeding. He looked like he was passed out or maybe in and out of consciousness.” said Brittany Patterson, who drove by the scene.

Saying the first thing that came to mind was, “I hope they are not beating him.”

WDHN reached out to the Troy Police Department and to the Troy mayors office, neither would comment.

The family is asking for body and dash camera footage to be released. Also telling News 18 today that any charges against Wilkerson were dropped and that he was never placed under arrest.

“They had him handcuffed when we got in there they said he was charged with obstruction of justice the ambulance came to take him to UAB the took the handcuffs off and dropped the charges on him,” said his father.

Wilkerson was released from UAB Hospital in Birmingham, but remains under medical observation and could possibly undergo surgery after more swelling goes down.

Mother Teresa Declared a Saint

Mother Teresa, a Catholic nun who devoted her life to helping India’s poor, has been declared a saint in a canonization Mass held by Pope Francis in the Vatican.

Mother Teresa Declared a Saint

Pope Francis delivered the formula for the canonization of the Albanian-born nun — known as the “saint of the gutters” — before huge crowds of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City on Sunday morning. Applause broke out before he completed the formula of canonization, in which he declared “Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a saint.”

India renamed the city of Calcutta to Kolkata in 2001 to match the Bengali pronunciation. But the church uses the spelling of Calcutta in its references to Mother Teresa.

Speaking in Latin, Francis said that “after due deliberation and frequent prayer for divine assistance, and having sought the counsel of many of our brother bishops, we declare and define Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a saint, and we enroll her among the saints, decreeing that she is to be venerated as such by the whole church.”
Catholics — including hundreds of blue- and white-robed nuns from the Missionaries of Charity sisterhood founded by Mother Teresa — had gathered from around the world to attend the canonization of the church’s newest saint, just 19 years after her death.

Mother Teresa Declared a Saint

A huge portrait of Mother Teresa, whom the church credits with having performed two miraculous cures of the sick, hung from St. Peter’s Basilica during the colorful ceremony.

Pope Francis then delivered a homily, in which he praised Mother Teresa — “this emblematic figure of womanhood and of consecrated life” — for her charitable work.
“Mother Teresa, in all aspects of her life, was a generous dispenser of divine mercy, making herself available for everyone through her welcome and defense of human life, those unborn and those abandoned and discarded,” he said.

Mother Teresa Declared a Saint
“She bowed down before those who were spent, left to die on the side of the road, seeing in them their God-given dignity. She made her voice heard before the powers of this world, so that they might recognize their guilt for the crime of poverty they created.”

For the newly-sainted Teresa, he said, “mercy was the salt which gave flavor to her work, it was the light which shone in the darkness of the many who no longer had tears to shed for their poverty and suffering.” She was an example to volunteers around the world, he said. “May she be your model of holiness.”

In a departure from his scripted remarks, he noted that people “may struggle” to refer to her as “Saint Teresa.” “With great spontaneity, I think we will continue to call her Mother Teresa,” he said.
Prayers were then delivered in a number of languages, including Albanian, Mother Teresa’s native tongue, and Bengali, the language of Kolkata, where a special Mass was celebrated at the Missionaries of Charity Sunday. A prayer was delivered in Chinese for persecuted Christians around the world.
About 1,500 homeless people from across Italy were bused into the Vatican to be given seats of honor at the Mass — and be served a pizza lunch by nuns afterward.
