As part of the sentence, Octave, 19, was ordered to complete an anger management/life skills course. Octave’s original 364-day sentence was then reduced to 180 days plus time-served.

The original house arrest sentence stemmed from Octave’s 2016 conviction on robbery and kidnapping charges.

Octave was found guilty of violating the terms of his probation on April 26 for going to a strip club, attending a boxing match and disrupting an anger management class.

Kodak Black to Remain in Jail

The Florida native’s scheduled March 10 court date concluded on an unresolved note, according to the Sun Sentinel.

The rapper will attend a continuation of the hearing on March 20. The March 10 hearing was held to determine if there was enough evidence to consider Kodak a “danger” to Broward County residents. He was sent back to prison after a probation report revealed that he had violated the terms of his house arrest by attending a boxing match and failing to complete a mandatory anger management course. Kodak’s probation officer Sandy Friedman told the court that she was concerned over his attitude which he displayed in recent social media posts. She cited one particular clip where Kodak is seen cursing and yelling about complying with the terms of the mandated classes. In another video, he looks into the camera and denies being late after not arriving to the class on time.

Kodak’s house arrest stems from two incidents which were rolled into a plea deal. He was charged in 2015 for forcing several people into his car after he believed someone attempted to break into his house. The other incident took place when the rapper was suspected of taking part in a drug deal in the Hallandale Beach area. He was originally facing 55 years in prison but copped a plea for 5 years probation with one-year house arrest. He was accused of breaking his house arrest when he attended a boxing fight that his probation officer claims he was not granted permission for. Under the terms of his house arrest, he was only permitted to leave his home for work. His legal team claims Kodak attended the fight for work purposes. The hearing could conclude as early as March 20 and will determine if the Florida rapper will be a free man anytime soon.

Kodak Black Extradited to South Carolina

Kodak Black was released from jail in Florida and extradited to South Carolina, where he is set to begin a trial for sexual battery.

New Details on Kodak Black's Arrest

Kodak Black has been released from the St. Lucie County jail, though he isn’t yet a free man, reports the Sun Sentinel. Instead, he has been extradited to South Carolina and placed in the custody of the state’s deputies, as he now faces a sexual battery charge stemming from an alleged incident in Florence, SC in early February.

Kodak’s name, Dieuson Octave, can be found on the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s release report, which states that the young emcee was released on Monday (Nov. 28) at 3:13 PM ET. “It does say that has been turned over to South Carolina via the Florence County Sheriff’s Office,” says Bryan Beaty, head of the Public Office of Information at the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, in response to an inquiry about Kodak’s release.

Kodak Black Extradited to South Carolina

Kodak was arrested in April after being involved in a high-speed police chase. He was released on bail the next day, though he was sent back to jail a month later due to outstanding warrants from 2015. In August, a judge decided to place Kodak on house arrest, after being convinced — in part by the lawyers of Atlantic Records — to forego a potentially lengthy jail sentence, due to the promise of his music career. Right before his scheduled release, though, two more warrants were discovered — a misdemeanor drug charge in St. Lucie County as well as the aforementioned sex charge in South Carolina.

After pleading no contest to the drug charge, he has now served his misdemeanor sentence in St. Lucie County. He now must remain in South Carolina, where he will presumably begin his sexual battery trial.

Kodak’s lawyers seem to be pleased with their client’s transfer to South Carolina. “We are firmly convinced that he will be vindicated in that charge and shortly be set free,” said attorney Gary Kollin, based in Fort Lauderdale. “He’s looking forward to getting to South Carolina so he can go on with his life and career.”

As of now, the details of Kodak’s confinement in South Carolina are unclear, though his team is confident that he is one step closer to achieving his freedom.
